South Australia adopted daylight saving time in 1971.
A referendum on daylight savings was held in South Australia on 6th Nov 1982, but only 28.38% voted against it.
Current Daylight Start and Finish dates in South Australia are:
- Begins 4th Oct 2009 – Turn clock forward by 1 hour at 2am
- Ends 4th April 2010 – Turn clock back by 1 hour at 2am
- Begins 3rd Oct 2010 – Turn clock forward by 1 hour at 2am
- Ends 3rd April 2011 – Turn clock back by 1 hour at 2am
