Western Australia trialled Daylight savings for a 3 year period from Dec 2006 to March 2009, but a referendum in 2009 voted against it, results shown below.
Four Referendums have now been held in WA, to try to implement daylight savings, but have each been defeated on the following dates:
- 2009 16th May. Daylight Saving Referendum Result was 54.56% against
- 1992 4th April. Daylight Saving Referendum Result was 53.14% against
- 1984 7th April. Daylight Saving Referendum Result was 54.35% against
- 1975 8th March. Daylight Saving Referendum Result was 53.66% against
