The reason ?
The distance between Brisbane and Perth is 3,606 km or 2,241 miles, and it is the same from Perth to Brisbane, so not that 
It can’t be the type of plane, as I looked at those, and not surprisingly, they use the same type of plane in both directions.
Strong winds going in one direction all the time, slowing the plane down on the Brisbane to Perth route, and speeding it up on the Perth to Brisbane route.
