Manuka Honey has been credited with various healing and health properties. The reason for this is the antibacterial activity of some of the Manuka honey.

You will be seeing this honey with a Unique Manuka Factor rating of normally somewhere between 10 and 25.

The higher rating Manuka Honey will also tend to be sold at a higher price.

These prices are not from the same location, hence some differences.

It really pays to shop around, but of course there may be more differences than just the rating ?  I have highlighted the prices I would be aiming to pay.

However, Woolworths have a Manuka Blend 500g for only $12.44, but without a rating number. Coles also have a Manuka Blend 500g for $10.82, again without a rating number. My guess is that they are rating 5.
Capilano produce a Manuka Honey that is sold in the supermarkets under the Bee Vital name.

Standard, normal, honey costs about $5 for 500 grams in the supermarkets.

A little information on the possible uses of UMF rated Manuka Honey:

• Up to UMF10 : Suitable for maintaining good health and digestion.
• UMF10 to UMF15 : Suitable for indigestion, heartburn and diarrhea.
• UMF20 to UMF25 : Suitable to treat gastroenteritis, stomach/peptic ulcers, duodenal ulcers, esophagus ulcers, acid reflux heartburn, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerate colitis, H. pylori and up-set stomach.
