Australian Capital Territory
You do not need a ?shing licence for recreational ?shing in the ACT, but you must follow the regulations of the Fisheries Act 2000.

New South Wales
When fishing in NSW waters, both freshwater and saltwater, you are required by law to pay the NSW Recreational Fishing Fee and carry a receipt showing the payment of the fee.
New South Wales Fishing Licence Fees
- 3 Days – $6.00
- 1 Month – $12.00
- 1 Year – $30.00
- 3 Years – $75.00

Northern Territory
A person who wishes to fish for recreation in Northern Territory waters does not require a licence to do so. However, recreational fishers currently need a temporary licence for recreational fishing on and over aboriginal granted land and adjoining waters.

Queensland
Anglers do not require a licence to fish recreationally in Queensland, except if fishing in some stocked impoundments.

In Victoria you do not need a licence to fish if you are under 18 years of age or 70 years of age or over.

You must have a recreational fishing licence from the WA Department of Fisheries for these types of fishing within Western Australia:
