Rebates for Solar or Heat Pump hot water systems.
There are two available rebates for Australian residents that are wanting to change to a Solar Hot Water system, a Federal Rebate and a State rebate, and BOTH of these can be claimed.
Federal Australian Government rebate
The Australian Government’s solar hot water program provides a rebate of $1,000 to install a solar hot water system, or $600 for a heat pump, to households replacing an electric water heater. http://www.climatechange.gov.au/government/programs-and-rebates/solar-hot-water.aspx
State Rebates for solar or heat pump hot water systems which replace an electric system.

$300 rebate is available in New South Wales for a solar or heat pump hot water system eligible for at least 20 Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), and replacing an electric system.
