5.68% Unemployment rate for Queensland Full Time Male employment seekers in August 2011.

Unemployment rates released in September 2011 from the Australian Bureau of Statistics show a change in Unemployment over the last 20 years, for the month of August in each year as:

In the long term, the current figures are mediocre, as the graph shows that the figures for Queensland are rising faster than they were falling in the recent years, although in comparison to the previous 20 years, still not too bad.

One example is the average for the five years 2002 to 2006, which was 4.91%, somewhat lower than todays 5.68%.

If we look at the first 10 years of the above, we see that the average was 9.10%.  That average makes our current figures not too bad at all, although nowhere near as good as the 2007 low point of 2.55% Unemployment.
