When buying a used car it can help to have an idea of the real costs, and values of these cars.
For example, I have just valued our old car:
It was originally $21,990 when new in 2001. Yes, it is now 10 years old.
One of the websites quotes these current values for it:
Estimated Valuations for average Kms: 152,000:
$3,780 – $4,620 private sale
$3,400 – $4,200 trade in value
$6,200 – $7,440 dealer price
Seems we are pretty average for our driving, ours has done 142,000 Kms. (average of 273km per week, over 10 years)
I’ll be back in a little while, with the REAL trade in value, as it is being replaced this week, I hope. (and the answer is:… $1,000 trade offer)
