Imodium and GastroStop are common tablets, or capsules, for the treatment of diarrhoea in Australia.

These medicines both contain Loperamide, but some versions also contain Simethicone.

A common side effect of Loperamide is a build up of excess air or gas in the stomach or bowels, also known as Flatulence.
The addition of Simethicone will normally relieve that side effect.
