2019-20 Migration Program Outcomes.

The 2019-20 Australian Immigration program (1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020) was originally set with the total places available being capped at a ceiling of 160,000 for the year.

The final number of grants eventually came out at 153,537, with 140,366 from the skilled/family stream, plus 13,171 in the humanitarian program.

Partner Visa Grants in 2019/20

According to Australia’s Migration Outcomes 2019-20, there were 37,118 Partner visas granted in 2019-20, and these were broken down to:

  • 35,536 Partner Visas (subclass 100 and 801) were granted in 2019-20.
  • 1,582 Prospective Marriage Visas were granted in 2019-20.

This differs to the number of partner visas granted according to FOI FA 21/02/00541 which stated a total of 105,249 Partner (Permanent and Temporary) and Prospective Marriage visas, which included primary and secondary applicants:

  • 22,054 subclass 100 Permanent Partner visas.
  • 43,506 subclass 801 Permanent Partner visas.
  • 11,702 subclass 309 Partner visas.
  • 26,320 subclass 820 Partner visas.
  • 1,667 subclass 300 Prospective marriage visas.
