Does the COVID Vaccine really help?
In Victoria the other day, it was reported that of the 209 cases in hospital, only two of them were fully vaccinated.
Of the 6.7 million population of Victoria, 36% (2,412,000) are fully vaccinated, and 64% (4,288,000) are not.
By pure averages, from those 209 in hospital the numbers should be:
75 people (36%) would be fully vaccinated and
134 people (64%) would not be fully vaccinated.
But the actuals showed only TWO fully vaccinated in hospital, with the other 207 not being fully vaccinated.
Reported in the Coronavirus update for Victoria – 18 September 2021
Of the COVID-19 patients in hospital yesterday, 87 per cent are not vaccinated and 12 per cent are partially vaccinated. Two people are fully vaccinated.
There are 207 COVID-19 cases in hospital in Victoria. 56 of those cases are in intensive care, with 40 cases on a ventilator.
Just 2 of the 209 in hospital were fully protected with a double dose of a Covid-19 vaccine.
At least 54 of the 56 in ICU were NOT vaccinated, and it might have been all of them. Without the vaccine, and working on pure averages it would only be 36 from those not vaccinated, not 54+. The vaccine saved 20 from being in ICU.
At least 38 of the 40 on a ventilator were NOT vaccinated, and it might have been all of them. Without the vaccine, and working on pure averages it would only be 24 from those not vaccinated, not 38+. The vaccine saved 16 from being on a ventilator.
That report also says:
Around 85 per cent of all active cases in Victoria are people under 50 years of age, while almost one quarter of cases are people in their 20s.
