Australia closed its borders to foreigners at 9pm 20th March 2020.
Australian Citizens and Australian Permanent Residents are still allowed to enter, together with immediate family members that hold a relevant visa.
Overseas airports might have Australian Border Force liaison officers who will work with airlines to identify travellers that are restricted from flying to Australia.
Most temporary visa holders need to apply for an exemption to the ban.
If you have a temporary partner visa (309 or 820) you can still travel to Australia. You don’t need to organise anything in advance.
If you have a BVB or other temporary visa, such as the subclass 300 (PMV) you need to contact immigration first, with relationship proof such as marriage certificate, registered relationship certificate or other suitable proof. Immigration will then decide if you will be allowed entry, and advise you before you book your flights.
