The 2016 Australian Federal Election was held on Saturday 2 July 2016. This was an Election for both The Representatives and The Senate.
Malcolm Turnbull was the Leader of the Liberal/National Coalition party
Bill Shorten was the Leader of the Australian Labor Party
As at Mon, 25 Jul 2016 8:54:21 AM AEST only 67 of 150 House of Representatives seats have been officially declared.
However, the Liberal/National Coalition has been declared the winner with more than 50% of the seats.

14,231,012 (90.78%) are recorded as voting
13,514,001 (94.96%) were recorded as valid votes
12,167,031 votes are recorded for the Two Party Preferred Results
6,112,921 votes for Liberal/National Coalition (50.24%)
6,054,110 votes for Australian Labor Party (49.76%)

Final Results – House of Representatives 2016.
At 25 July 2016 the Division of Herbert in Queensland is being recounted.
The first count has the following two party voting result:
- 44,184 Liberal National Party of Queensland (31,357 votes as 1st Preference)
- 44,183 Australian Labor Party (26,915 votes as 1st Preference)
- The third highest party on 1st preference was 11,958 votes for Pauline Hanson’s One Nation
At 26 July 2016, the second count is showing:
- 44,195 Australian Labor Party (26,904 votes as 1st Preference)
- 44,156 Liberal National Party of Queensland (31,363 votes as 1st Preference)
- There is now talk of another election being called for this division
After the Two Party Preferences were calculated, the Liberal/National party won by 58,811 votes. (subject to final declarations)

- 6,054,110 votes for Australian Labor Party (49.76%)
