Amazon America is delivering to Australia from the US again.
The US Amazon website has found a way to charge the 10% Australian GST correctly, and will now deliver goods ordered from amazon.com to Australia again.
The amazon.com site option has about 10 times as many products as the Australian site, and is much more popular.
“As a result of customer feedback, from November 22, 2018 Amazon customers will be able to ship eligible items from amazon.com to Australian delivery addresses,” an Amazon spokeswoman said.
Deliveries to Australia were stopped in July 2018, when it was said to be too difficult to collect the Australian GST. Amazon have now copied Ebay and found a way to implement it.
