Is Australia Rising in Covid-19 Vaccine Ranks?

At 6 Oct 2021, 80 per cent of Australia’s eligible population had received a COVID-19 vaccine. This placed Australia at about 50th in the world for first dose vaccination rates.

By 20 Dec 2021, the numbers were:

  • 93.1% of 12+ had received 1 dose.
  • 89.7% of 12+ had received 2 doses.
  • 94.0% of 16+ had received 1 dose.
  • 90.8% of 16+ had received 2 doses.

Australia is now 42nd in the world for doses per 100 people, with 42.4 million doses averaging 161 doses per 100 people.

1st place goes to Gibraltar with 107,273 doses averaging 346 doses per 100 people.

UK has 128,516,864 doses, averaging 188 doses per 100 people.

USA has 496,239,573 doses, averaging 149 doses per 100 people.
