The following processing times relate to Citizenship applications, by conferral, that reached a decision in December 2022.
From Date of application to decision.
- 25% took under 6 months.
- 25% between 6 months and 7 months.
- 25% between 7 months and 9 months.
- 15% between 9 months and 15 months.
- 10% took over 15 months.
From Date of approval to ceremony.
- 25% took under 66 days.
- 25% between 66 days and 89 days.
- 25% between 89 days and 5 months.
- 15% between 5 months and 7 months.
- 10% took over 7 months.
From Date of application to ceremony.
- 25% took under 11 months.
- 25% between 11 months and 14 months.
- 25% between 14 months and 18 months.
- 15% between 18 months and 22 months.
- 10% took over 22 months.
These times do NOT include those applications that are still in progress, and some of those might take longer than the longest times shown above.

- 10,191 citizenship by conferral applications were received during the month of December 2022.
- There were 96,526 citizenship by conferral applications on hand at the end of December 2022.
- That is 15,498 ( 13.8 %) less than the 112,024 citizenship by conferral applications on hand at the end of September 2022.

- 25% took under 50 days.
- 25% between 50 days and 56 days.
- 25% between 56 days and 78 days.
- 15% between 78 days and 4 months.
- 10% took over 4 months.
There were 3,424 citizenship by descent applications on hand at the end of December 2022. That is a small increase from the 3,091 citizenship by descent applications on hand at the end of September 2022.
There were 1,196 citizenship by descent applications received during December 2022.
