Who is eligible for the Coronavirus Supplement?.
The $550 per fortnight Coronavirus Supplement will be paid from the 27th April 2020 if you are:
- A permanent employee who has been stood down or sacked.
- A sole trader, self-employed, casual worker or contract worker who now earns less than $1,075 a fortnight as a result of the economic downturn.
- Caring for someone who has COVID-19.

The Coronavirus Supplement will be automatically added to your welfare payment for six months from April 27.
It is available for the following benefit recipients.
JobSeeker Payment
Youth Allowance for job seekers
Youth Allowance for students
Parenting Payment
Farm Household Allowance
Austudy
Abstudy
Special Benefit
Under current rules (25th March 2020)
If you lose your job and your partner earns more than $1,850 a fortnight ($48,100 a year) you will not be eligible for the Jobseeker Payment.
