What is the Australian Median Wage in 2021?
In May 2021 the median wage for full time workers in Australia was:
- Male median full time wage about $1,653 per week.
- Female median full time wage about $1,496 per week.
These figures are calculated from ABS statistics that showed the following:
All employees Full and Part Time:
Male average wages were $1,625.40 per week.
Female average wages were $1,166.90 per week.
Male Median Wages were $1,390 per week, this was 85.52% of the average male earnings.
Female Median Wages were $1,042 per week, this was 89.3% of the average female earnings.
Full Time Wages:
Full Time Male Average was $1,934 per week.
Full Time Female Average was $1,675.90 per week.
Using the figures above, we calculate:
- Full Time Male Average was $1,934, therefore the median would be about $1,653.90 per week. (85.52% of the average).
- Full Time Female Average was $1,675.90, therefore the median would be about $1,496.52 per week. (89.3% of the average).
