What is the Bridging Visa B (BVB).
The Bridging visa B (BVB) is a temporary visa that allows you to stay in Australia while another visa is being processed, so that you remain a legal visa holder after your existing visa ends.
A BVB lets you leave and return to Australia while your application for a substantive visa is being processed. If you return to Australia within the specified travel period, you can then remain lawfully in Australia while your substantive visa application is being processed.
It is normally applied for by people on a BVA, but who wish to leave and re-enter Australia. A BVA does not permit that.
You can apply for a BVB if you meet various conditions including:
– you have substantial reasons for wanting to leave and return to Australia while your substantive visa application is being processed.
As at June 2018 the BVB had a basic application cost of $145
