The prices of televisions in Australia can vary enormously, but you should always remember to negotiate a better price than that shown on the normal sales docket.
Personally I would never accept less than a minimum discount of 10%.
You may find some very low priced Televisions at the moment, but probably the older Analogue technology.
With the Analogue broadcasting system due to be turned off by 2013, that would come as no surprise.
However, these TV sets will still work, as long as you buy a set top box to go with them.
I have seen some of these set top boxes as low as $25.
