Commonwealth Day is an annual commemoration of the Commonwealth of Nations, a group of countries with a combined population of about one billion people.
This Commonwealth is different to the ‘Commonwealth of Australia’, which is the official name for Australia.
Commonwealth Day is NOT observed as a Public Holiday in Australia or most other Commonwealth countries.
