Disability and Health Costs for an Australian Visa

Does a Disability or Health Issue cause a Visa Refusal?.

It depends on your expected future health care costs to the Australian taxpayer.

If the cost of a disability or medical condition is judged by a Medical Officer of the Commonwealth (MOC) to be higher than the threshold, then the applicant with the disability or medical condition will not pass the requirement.

Currently, this threshold is $49,000, calculated over a 3, 5 or 10 year period.

The Department can consider exercising a health waiver for some visas.
