Dr Jeannette Young, Queensland.
Dr Young began her role as Queensland’s Chief Health Officer on Ekka Show Day in 2005, and will leave the position at the end of October 2021, when she takes the position of Governor of Queensland.
She is currently Australia’s longest-serving chief health officer.
On the 1st November 2021, Dr Jeannette Young PSM will be sworn in as Queensland’s 27th Governor.
From 1st November 2021, Dr Krispin Hajkowicz will officially take over as Queensland’s Chief Health Officer.
