Food Prices

Food Prices in Australia.

We all have different spending habits on things like food, with some people being cautious and keeping to a strict budget, while others are more relaxed. This can often be attributed to the differing incomes in Australia.
With an average full time income of about $80,000 per year, some can spend more than a pensioner or single non working parent, who live on much lower incomes.

I feel sure that the supermarkets have adapted their prices in the past, with higher prices in the more affluent areas, and lower prices in the lower socio economic areas.

But… online ordering makes that much different now, with standard prices for everything.

Other shops can of course change that, and better pricing can often be obtained by shopping around.

Specials are also often available, and some more often than others.
One example that I see all the time, is the half price chocolate bars. I am not sure that I have seen a week without that special running. It might be different bars each week, but I don’t think that I have ever bought one at the full price.
