Hyundai ix35 Recall 28 February 2025.
8,794 Hyundai ix35 with build dates during 2012 – 2013 are being recalled.
DO NOT PARK IN A GARAGE UNTIL REPAIRED.
Due to a manufacturing defect, brake fluid may leak into the Antilock Braking System (ABS) control module.
This could cause an electrical short circuit leading to a vehicle engine compartment fire while parked or driving.
What are the hazards?
A vehicle fire could increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users, bystanders and/or damage to property.
What should consumers do?
Owners of affected vehicles can contact their nearest authorised Hyundai dealer to schedule an appointment to have the work carried, free of charge.
Note: Affected vehicles should be parked in an open space and away from flammable materials and structures, i.e. not in a garage until the rectification is carried away.
If your vehicle displays an engine warning light, please stop driving and contact your local Hyundai dealer.
