Minimum Wage in Australia July 2018

Australian Minimum Wage from July 2018.

From 1st July 2018 the Australian Adult Minimum wage will rise from $18.29 an hour ($694.90 a week) to $18.93 an hour ($719.20 a week)

This increase of 3.5% will be an extra $24.30 for the normal full time 38-hour week.

Casual employees covered by the national minimum wage also get at least a 25% casual loading, but no holiday or sick pay.

Those under 21 must get at least a certain percentage of the Adult minimum wage.

  • 36.8% Under 16 years of age ($6.73 per hour)
  • 47.3% At 16 years of age ($8.65 per hour)
  • 57.8% At 17 years of age ($10.57 per hour)
  • 68.3% At 18 years of age ($12.49 per hour)
  • 82.5% At 19 years of age ($15.09 per hour)
  • 97.7% At 20 years of age ($17.87 per hour)
