The Australian government has agreed to allow another 2,000 Australians the ability to return home each week, by increasing the weekly limit from 4,000 to 6,000 per week.
From 27 September, NSW will allow an extra 500 Australians the ability to return home to NSW, each week.
From the same date, Queensland will allow another 200 Australians per week to return home. This will increase to 500 per week on 4th October.
Also on 27 September, Western Australia will take an extra 200 people per week, increasing to 500 per week on 11 October.
Each state has agreed to increase its quarantine ability to cope with the extra arrivals.
The Federal government will be providing ADF personnel to assist in managing the quarantine arrangements.
