Australian Newstart Allowance Rates March 2018.
The Australian Newstart Allowance is a welfare benefit for the Unemployed.
It is increased in line with CPI twice a year, in March and September.
The amount you will get paid will depend on your personal situation, such as if you have children and a partner, and how much income you’ve earned in the past 14 days.
Newstart Payments are made fortnightly, and the maximum rates are shown below.
