Unpaid Queensland Quarantine bills.
In June 2021 it was reported that about 18% of Quarantine bills, for Queensland Quarantine arrivals, were overdue for payment, with about 10% significantly overdue.
At that time about $52 million was still outstanding. That is about 18,000 people who have not yet refunded the Queensland taxpayers for their quarantine costs.
The Queensland government have stated that overdue payments of quarantine fees may be referred to a debt collection agency. Upon referral, the debt collection agency will manage queries pertaining to the debt.
