Quarantine in Australia can come at a moments notice.
An example of this happened with passengers on Qantas flight QF778 being being told to isolate for 14 days, after one passenger was found to be positive for COVID-19.
The COVID positive man travelled from Perth to Melbourne on April 21, after completing 14 days quarantine in Western Australia.
He then went back into hotel quarantine, but this time in Melbourne, after being found to be a close contact of another international arrived positive case in the Perth quarantine system.
WA Premier Mark McGowan’s office said the returned overseas travellers who passed on the virus had arrived from India, and Mr McGowan called for Australia to consider temporarily banning all travellers from India from entering the country.
