Road Rules for Cyclists in Queensland.
There are some rules that cyclists must follow in Australia.
The Queensland Road Rules encourage safe interactions between all road users. If you don’t follow the road rules, you may be fined.
These rules include:
Cyclists can ride across pedestrian crossings at traffic lights, if they:
- come to a complete stop first.
- wait for the green ‘walk’ sign.
- proceed slowly and safely.
- give way to any pedestrian on the crossing.
Most cyclists obey these rules, but some totally ignore them.
