First proposed in 1895, yes, 115 years ago, the railway line extension to Redcliffe is being proposed yet again.
In the 1980’s, the land was actually purchased for this railway line, by the national party under the leadership of Joe Bjelke-Petersen. This land is still owned by the Queensland State.
The QLD Liberal National party promised to start this line at the last State election but were not able to obtain power at that time.
Now in the 2010 Federal Election, the Labor party are promising to begin the line on the day AFTER the election.
Will it happen ?
