How To Reset Hyundai i30 Service Required Warning Light

I just reset mine as it was past the required mileage, and showing “Service Required in -365kms

The procedure that I used was:

  1. Close all the doors.
  2. Put into park position.
  3. Turn the ignition On, but do not start the engine.
  4. Press the TRIP button a few times until the SERVICE REQUIRED is displayed.
  5. While the SERVICE REQUIRED is displayed. Press and hold the RESET button to reset.
  6. It should reset to appear in 15,000 kms or 365 days time.
  7. Turn off the ignition.

There are a few different methods appearing on some websites, possibly for different models of the i30.

This is one that in theory should cover my car, but didn’t:

2011-2017 Hyundai i30 Service Required Maintenance Light Reset
  1. Close all doors, gear to park position.
  2. Turn the ignition On. Don’t start the engine.
  3. Press the TRIP button until the SERVICE REQUIRED is displayed.
  4. While the SERVICE REQUIRED is displayed. Press and hold the OK button to reset.
  5. Turn off the ignition.

Another, that also covered the year of my car, but was wrong for mine, was:

  1. Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position without starting the engine.
  2. Press the TRIP button repeatedly until you see USER SETTINGS menu.
  3. Once you on the USER SETTINGS screen, press and hold the TRIP button to enter the menu.
  4. Press the TRIP button until the screen is changed.
  5. Scroll down and select SERVICE INTERVAL.
  6. Adjust the time and distance at a specific interval.
  7. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
