A total of about 3,500 subclass 491 visa applications had been waiting for over 12 months at 31 January 2021. That is about 16% of the 21,934 subclass 491 visa applications that were still in the pipeline at 31 January 2021.
The following numbers show the numbers of those waiting for over 12 months, in each occupation group where the total waiting at 31 January 2022 was over 100.
- 33 (30.84%) of the 107 total waiting for Occupation 323211 Fitter (General), had been waiting for over 12 months.
- 77 (30.68%) of the 251 total waiting for Occupation 351411 Cook, had been waiting for over 12 months.
- 296 (26.84%) of the 1,103 total waiting for Occupation 351311 Chef, had been waiting for over 12 months.
- 103 (24.29%) of the 424 total waiting for Occupation 321211 Motor Mechanic (General), had been waiting for over 12 months.
- 66 (23.24%) of the 284 total waiting for Occupation 141111 Cafe or Restaurant Manager, had been waiting for over 12 months.
- 502 (17.14%) of the 2,929 total waiting for Occupation 221111 Accountant (General), had been waiting for over 12 months.
- 35 (16.28%) of the 215 total waiting for Occupation 261313 Software Engineer, had been waiting for over 12 months.
- 18 (13.43%) of the 134 total waiting for Occupation 221213 External Auditor, had been waiting for over 12 months.
- 18 (10.23%) of the 176 total waiting for Occupation 254499 Registered Nurse nec, had been waiting for over 12 months.
- 6 (5.71%) of the 105 total waiting for Occupation 233411 Electronics Engineer, had been waiting for over 12 months.
