There is an issue with commenting at the moment. Sometimes you can reply, other times you can't. This is being looked into... Thanks

  4. It’s been over 28 months since our initial application for 820/801.
The processing times have indicated that the majority of applications are processed between 22-27 months. Should we be concerned? We’ve received no correspondence other than automatic updates.

    1. During the last 12 months, over half of the subclass 820’s have taken ‘under 18’ months to be finalised.

At 28 months, it could be a concern, as you are currently in the 25% that have been taking ‘over’ 22 months.

Have you been updating with regular new proofs of continuing relationship? It is best to do this every other month, or even monthly.
If not, it would be worth doing an update now.

      Was your application complete?

There are many factors that could cause delays, including the time it takes for your country to complete the requests made to them.
      What is the applicants nationality?

  6. Any idea if things are faster/slower through covid? My partner is currently at 19 months waiting for 820 and hasn’t had the application opened yet. Coming from Vietnam

    1. In March, 75% took up to 24 months and in August it was 23, so basically not much difference overall.

You say the application hasn’t been opened yet. They may actually be working on it, but not contacting the applicant if everything required was uploaded at time of application. Some people never hear anything until they receive the grant email.

      1. Thanks for your response. Sounds like you’re saying that if it’s sitting in ‘received’ status it may actually be processing. Might be an error on our part then as we are yet to do medical check (cancelled due to covid). Cheers

      1. In July and August, I have seen three subclass 820s being granted for applicants coming from the PMV300.

820 Finalised after 7.4 months, from Russia. (18.1 months after PMV Application.).
820 Finalised after 1.3 months, from Philippines. (25.2 months after PMV Application.).
820 Finalised after 3.6 months, from Vietnam. (21.7 months after PMV Application.).

Looking back at all of 2020, I have seen 10, with times ranging from 15 months to 40 months for the 820 grant, after the PMV application date. Averaging 25 months (PMV application date to 820 grant).
These had the 820 processing times between 3.6 and 21 months, averaging 10 months.

What are your application and grant dates for the subclass 300, and your nationality, and country of original application?
