During the 10 months between August 2020 and May 2021, there were 7,656 subclass 887 (Skilled Regional) visa applications lodged, and 5,211 subclass 887 visas granted. These numbers include both primary and secondary applicants.
This is an average of 765 applications for a subclass 887 visa each month, and an average of 521 subclass 887 visas being granted each month.
Although the numbers of lodgements were reasonably steady each month, the numbers granted changed considerably, presumably due to COVID restrictions.

In September 2021, Immigration is currently assessing subclass 887 applications submitted before September 2020.
In July 2021:
- 75% of subclass 887 applications took up to 15 months to be finalised.
- 15% took between 15 and 16 months.
- 10% took over 16 months.
