New Migrant Support in Australia.
Most new migrants are aware that there is a TWO YEAR exclusion period to be able to claim Social Security Benefits in Australia.
However, there are some other Programs available to New Migrants that can be claimed.
These include:
Adult Migrant English Program.
This is a program to provide free English language courses to help you settle in Australia.
This provides up to 510 hours of free English language education, over up to 5 years.
Some Temporary Visa Holders are eligible for this program, including Partner (Provisional) (Class UF) and
Partner (Temporary) (Class UK).

Skills for Education and Employment.
This is a program to help develop speaking, reading, writing or basic maths skills to improve your employment prospects.
Requirements for this program include eligibility for various Australian Government Benefits, but also includes a migrant serving the 104 week newly arrived residents waiting period for income support payments
