The Managing Director of Woolworths has said that the move to bring back some product rationing was precautionary, following the unusual increase in toilet paper purchases recently.
Two packets of toilet paper and two packets of paper towels, is now the maximum purchase nationwide.
Coles have stated that one packet of toilet paper and one packet of paper towels each is their limit.
Restrictions were imposed in Victoria, and on the NSW border, earlier in the week.
Both stores have now chosen to increase this to a nationwide policy.
