When will social distancing restrictions be removed?
Australia’s Chief Medical Officer, Brendan Murphy, has said that authorities should not consider easing distancing restrictions until they are confident the public health system can deal with the “inevitable increase in infections” that would follow.
He did also say that Australia is actually pretty close to being able to do that, if they wished.
So, this basically means that when all hospitals are fully prepared and we have enough body bags, we can relax the rules.
Or, we can wait longer, and not need the hospital services and body bags..
He also says that more social restrictions, rather than a relaxation of them, might work better for a virus elimination strategy instead.
